Adoption of the updated General Plan in December 2006, included implementation priorities. The Catheys Valley Community Plan was identified as a short-term priority by the Board of Supervisors.
Meetings held in 2007 resulted in a decision to create a sub-committee to review the Agriculture element in the community plan to see in what way the element should be clarified to reflect the agricultural culture and industry in Catheys Valley. The information from the sub-committee meetings was available at the next public meeting. It was decided by a majority of the committee that the agriculture element should remain in the community plan.
Development of the EIR and finalization of the community plan for public hearing ensued during 2008. The public hearing on the Catheys Valley Community Plan in January 2009 resulted in a majority vote to adopt the plan with limited changes, and to refer the plan to the Planning Commission as early in 2009 as possible. |
